Accounts Manager (QuickBooks & Xero Expert)
Job Context
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accounts Manager with strong expertise in QuickBooks and Xero to oversee our day-to-day accounting operations and financial reporting. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing reconciliations, supervising AP/AR and payroll processes, and ensuring compliance with applicable accounting standards and tax regulations.
This role requires hands-on experience in setting up and optimizing accounting systems, preparing monthly and annual financial statements, supporting budgeting and forecasting activities, and providing financial insights to management for strategic decision-making. The candidate should be QuickBooks & Xero certified and confident in handling system migrations, chart of accounts structuring, and internal financial controls.

Core Responsibilities
Cloud Accounting & Bookkeeping

Manage full-cycle bookkeeping using QuickBooks Online and Xero for global clients.

Perform bank reconciliation, AP/AR management, journal entries, and month-end closing.

Ensure accuracy, compliance, and timeliness of all accounting tasks.
System Setup & Data Migration

Set up new QuickBooks/Xero accounts including chart of accounts, rules, tax settings, and workflows.

Execute end-to-end data migration from legacy systems to QuickBooks/Xero (imports, mapping, validation).

Conduct system cleanup, error correction, and optimization of existing client files.
Payroll & Compliance

Manage QuickBooks Payroll and Xero Payroll including employee onboarding, pay runs, tax compliance, and reporting.

Ensure payroll accuracy and alignment with country-specific regulations (USA, UK, AU, NZ).
Financial Reporting & Analysis

Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.

Generate management reports, dashboards, KPIs, and trend analysis for clients.

Support accountants and CFOs in budgeting, cash flow forecasting, and audit preparation.
Client Support & Advisory

Provide ongoing support and troubleshooting for accounting, payroll, and system-related queries.

Train clients on the use of QuickBooks/Xero features and best practices.

Recommend workflow improvements, automation tools, and accounting efficiencies.
Skills/Experience
Technical Skills

Strong expertise in QuickBooks Online and Xero (certifications preferred).

Hands-on experience with QuickBooks Payroll and Xero Payroll.

Proficiency in bank reconciliation, AP/AR management, journal entries, and financial reporting.

Knowledge of sales tax, VAT/GST, payroll tax, and compliance in multiple jurisdictions.

Experience with data migration, system setup, cleanup, and file restructuring.

Familiarity with third-party apps like Dext, HubDoc, Gusto, Bill.com, Stripe, PayPal, A2X, Synder, etc.
Professional & Soft Skills

2–5+ years of professional accounting and bookkeeping experience.

Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal.

Ability to manage multiple clients and deadlines across time zones.

High accuracy, attention to detail, and strong work ethics.

Client service mindset with the ability to work independently and in teams.
Preferred Qualifications
- QuickBooks ProAdvisor Certification (Required/Preferred)
- Xero Advisor Certification (Required/Preferred).
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Experience working with international clients in outsourcing/BPO environments.
