Job Context 

The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) will be a core member of the Senior Leadership Team and a strategic partner to the Board of Directors, Chairman, and Managing Director, responsible for providing overall financial leadership to the organization. The role involves shaping and executing the company’s financial strategy to support sustainable growth, profitability, and long-term value creation across all business units.

The CFO will oversee all aspects of financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, reporting, treasury, taxation, audit, risk management, and regulatory compliance, ensuring robust financial governance and transparency. This position requires a strong focus on performance optimization, capital efficiency, and cost management while maintaining full compliance with local and international accounting standards.

As a business-focused leader, the CFO will provide data-driven insights and financial analysis to support strategic decision-making, business expansion, investments, mergers, acquisitions, and diversification initiatives. The role demands the ability to operate effectively in a complex, multi-business and multi-location environment, balancing strategic oversight with hands-on leadership.

The CFO will also be responsible for strengthening internal controls, enhancing financial systems and processes (including ERP and digital finance transformation), and building a high-performing finance team capable of supporting the organization’s evolving needs. Strong leadership, sound judgment, integrity, and the ability to communicate clearly with both financial and non-financial stakeholders are essential for success in this role.

Core Responsibilities

As the Chief Financial Officer (CFO), you will play a critical role in providing overall financial leadership and strategic direction to the organization. As a key member of the Senior Leadership Team, you will work closely with the Board of Directors and Managing Director to develop and execute financial strategies that support sustainable growth and long-term business objectives.

Responsibilities include:

  • Develop and implement the financial strategy aligned with corporate objectives.
  • Lead corporate budgeting, forecasting and long-term planning.
  • Provide financial insights and recommendations to the Board and CEO to drive business decisions.
  • Oversee all financial operations: accounting, reporting, cash flow, treasury, taxation and compliance.
  • Ensure accurate preparation of financial statements and adherence to IFRS/IAS and local regulations.
  • Monitor working capital, cost structure and financial performance metrics.
  • Strengthen internal controls, governance and financial discipline.
  • Manage financial risk including currency, interest rate and operational risks.
  • Liaise with auditors, banks, regulators and other stakeholders.
  • Conduct investment evaluation, ROI and feasibility analysis for new projects.
  • Support pricing strategy, capital allocation and cost optimization initiatives.
  • Implement ERP/finance system upgrades and digital transformation initiatives.
  • Lead and develop the finance team through coaching, performance management and capacity building.
  • Establish performance-driven and process-oriented finance operations.

Skills/Experience

  • Minimum 15–20 years of progressive experience in finance, accounting, and corporate management, including 5–7 years in a CFO / Deputy CFO / Head of Finance role within a large organization or group of companies.
  • Professional qualification mandatory: FCA / ACA / ACCA / CMA; MBA or equivalent postgraduate degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration preferred.
  • Strong command over corporate financial strategy, annual budgeting, rolling forecasts, long-term financial planning, and capital allocation.
  • Extensive experience in financial reporting, consolidation, audit management, taxation, VAT, customs, and statutory compliance in Bangladesh, with sound knowledge of IFRS/IAS.
  • Proven expertise in treasury management, including cash flow optimization, working capital management, banking facilities, loans, and credit negotiations.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead investment appraisal, feasibility analysis, financial modeling, ROI assessment, and risk evaluation for new projects, expansions, and acquisitions.
  • Strong understanding of cost control, margin improvement, pricing strategy, and operational performance management across multiple business units.
  • Experience in managing ERP systems, accounting software, and digital finance transformation initiatives to improve efficiency and reporting accuracy.
  • Ability to interpret and analyze financial statements, management reports, industry trends, and macroeconomic indicators to support strategic and board-level decisions.
  • Proven leadership capability in building, mentoring, and managing high-performing finance and accounts teams.
  • Strong knowledge of corporate governance, internal controls, risk management frameworks, and compliance best practices.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage effectively with Board members, auditors, banks, regulators, and investors.
  • High level of integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality, with the ability to work under pressure and manage complex, multi-company operations.
